Doppelbocks were originally brewed by monks in Germany as a form of “liquid bread” to sustain themselves during times of fasting. As the story goes, no solid food was permitted, but the more beer a monk drank the closer to God he might come. Whether this lager causes you to see the light or not you’ll enjoy the depth of malty flavors.
