Bookhouse – Brick and Mortar

The foundation of any empire is built of bricks and mortar. English-style pale ale is that foundation for the empire of what we now generally call “craft beer.” Though tame by modern standards, the perseverance of pub culture in the UK and most of western Europe inspired the original craft beer revolution, giving rise to New Albion Ale, Anchor Liberty Ale, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and many more.

It seems fitting to pay tribute to those progenitors with a proper pint. Simple, classic ingredients, held together in balance, with just enough going on to hold your interest, but not so much to be the center of attention. English-style malt, Manchester yeast, Slovenian hops; slightly sweet, a hint of herbs in the finish – a proper pint.
