We wanted to brew a beer that reflects our desire to be more sustainable, and so we turned to the sun for inspiration. Ra, named after the ancient Egyptian solar deity, is a Fossil Free Honey Blonde Ale. Using Rahr Malts’ Fossil Free Malts (malted using the world’s second ever biomass-powered suspension fired boiler), amber honey from Stratford Ecological Center’s apiary in Delaware, OH, and Ohio-grown Cascade Hops from Ohio Hops in Castalia, OH, Ra is not only a refreshing summer blonde ale, but it’s also a direct fundraiser for our ongoing and future sustainability initiatives.
For every pint pour and six-pack sold, $2 will go towards our internal Sun-Grant Fund which we’ll use to finance equipment upgrades, building improvements, and anything else that will continue to reduce our environmental impact.
