A special chocolate honey stout made last year to commemorate the end of the world. If you forgot, the apocalypse was supposed to end all life on Dec. 21, 2012. At least that’s what the media reported based on interpretations of the Mayan calendar.
“Well, we survived and loved the beer so much we are adding it to our winter lineup with a release on Dec. 21,” brewery co-owner John Najeway said in an email.
The brewery is changing the name, though. It was called Last Mayan Dog last year. This year, it will be known as Rise of Mayan Dog. The recipe is the same, except for the fact that Thirsty Dog tried to extract more chocolate from the cocoa nibs used.
